Leak detection Functional principle:
Leaks are places in the compressed air system where air can escape. Since this leads to a pressure drop, more energy is required to keep the pressure in your system at the required level. Leaks usually occur in lines, fittings, service components, and quick-connects far from the compressor.
When compressed air escapes, the gas molecules cause friction along the pipe wall. This friction in turn generates noise in the ultrasonic frequency range. The METPOINT® LKD recognizes this noise and converts it into acoustic and visual signals. Since the device only picks up sounds within the gas leak frequency range, it enables accurate detection even in noisy environments.
